Schools

Five schools are located in Harvest: Creekside Elementary School, Endeavor Elementary School, Sparkman Ninth Grade, Harvest School, and Sparkman High School. These schools are a part of the Madison County School System which serves several other communities in the county, including Gurley, New Hope, Meridianville, Toney, Monrovia, Hazel Green, Owens Cross Roads, and New Market. Overall, there are 14 elementary schools, four middle schools, five high schools, one ninth grade school, and one career center in the district.

Colleges & Universities

There are several colleges and universities located just a few miles from the heart of Harvest. Many of these colleges feature highly acclaimed undergraduate and graduate programs, promising the student populace that they will be well prepared to become responsible, contributing citizens within their community. Some of Alabama's colleges and universities include the University of Alabama in Huntsville; Alabama A&M University; John C. Calhoun State Community College; Motlow State Community College; and the University of North Alabama, among others.

Local Economy

As a small unincorporated community that is rapidly expanding, Harvest's primary source for the local economy is in residential construction. Since 2003, over 650 houses were built in Harvest and in its neighboring community Monrovia. Harvest is home to a number of small businesses, retail shops and restaurants; however, most residents commute to Madison or Huntsville for work, both which are about a half-hour drive away.
